BBL : BROAD BAND LIGHT PHOTOFACIAL

A powerful Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy known as BroadBand Light (BBL).
Targets surface level & sub-dermal pigmentation caused by sun damage, redness, broken vessels, rosacea & fine lines. Brightens complexion and improves overall skin health.
Ideal for patients with light - medium, untanned skin - aim to see us when your summer tan has faded! Since melanin absorbs the light, olive or brown skin is at risk for burning, hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, or scarring. Ask us about safer skin rejuvenation options for patients with more melanin including chemical peels and our Clear + Brilliant laser.
Suitable for the whole body - anywhere kissed by the sun! Face, neck, chest, arms, back & legs.
60 minutes (inclusive of prescription grade BLT numbing cream)
No downtime! Skin may appear slightly red / flushed post tx (like a mild sunburn) & pigmentation will darken over the next few days appearing like coffee grounds on the skin.
Avoid excessive sun-exposure, harsh topicals including exfoliants, antibiotics & retinol products & waxing or hair removal for 5-7 days prior to tx. Those prone to coldsore break-outs should pre-treatment with suitable anti-viral medication.
You will receive a custom post-care balm to soothe & nourish your skin for the next few days post tx. Avoid saunas / steam, swimming / hot tubs, rigorous exercise, makeup and excessive sun-exposure for 48 hours. Wait 7 days before resuming exfoliants & retinol products.
Unlike other practices our BBL/Photofacial is an extensive, more thorough, precise and customized treatment - tailored to your skins exact needs. All treatments include multiple passes to the skin (to target various depths of pigmentation) and are inclusive of our Diolite laser (for broken vessels, skin tags or particularly stubborn spots).

Treatment time :

1 hour. **promptness is highly encouraged as part of this allotment of time is for topical numbing.

Downtime?? :

This is not a "Downtime" procedure; however this treatment may give the skins surface a coffeeground-like appearance in areas. The sub-dermal and dermal level pigment/damage is often pulled out to the skins surface and may or may not present itself as darker speckles. Make-up can be applied as soon as the next morning. We advise no after-school pick-ups or date nights the night-of, as you will be feeling a bit spicy and a bit sunburnt when you leave us. This procedure is best to do when you don't have a big birthday celebration, party (for vanity sake only;).

Your treatment at Alchemy is all inclusive. It is priced by area and includes (for all areas) prescription-grade numbing cream to make the treatment more comfortable (optional), & post treatment balm (to be used as a substitute to patients own moisturizer) for 3-5 days post treatment.

During your personalized consultation with one of our skilled staff members, we will ascertain your desired goal, and prescribe the most effective methods available to achieve positive results. Our lasers are not only dermatologist grade, but the absolute best available.
