THE BETTER YOU PREP - the better YOUR TAN WILL LOOK, the better YOUR TAN WILL LAST!

PRE-CARE

  • ●  Exfoliate your face + body thoroughly the night before; using a loofah, glove, or washcloth is great. An exfoliating body scrub is even better.

    ●  If you don’t exfoliate weekly, scrub 2–3 times before your appointment, leaving 2 days between scrubs (start 1 week before your tan).

    ●  Focus on areas that tend to be more dry : elbows, knees, ankles, back of arms + heels.

    ●  Avoid scrubs containing: AHA, Glycolic, Multi-Hydroxy Acids, Salicylic Acid, or Retinol.

    ●  Fine-grain scrubs work best.

  • ●  The night before apply a deeply hydrating body cream or body butter all over. Pay a little extra attention to areas like your hands, feet, elbows and knees, as these are the areas that the spray tan solution might cling to.

(if you don’t have a heavy moisturizer you can pick up a travel or retail size option from the desk, we have many affordable options here for you to help prep!)

    ●  If your skin is very dry, moisturize 2-3 nights in a row before your appointment if you can. A tan applies + holds best on hydrated skin.

    ●  Do NOT apply lotion or any other topicals the day of your tan.

  • ●  Shaving: At least 24 hours prior (the night before is okay).

    ●  Waxing: 48+ hours prior (day before is too close)

    ●  Mani/Pedi: 24+ hours prior (polish preferred over a natural nail :)

    ●  Brow tint: minimum of 2-3 days prior (3+ is preferable!)

    ●  Lash extensions: 24 hours before (or before your tan same day).

    ●  Skincare: Stop Retinols 2-3 days prior, even better 4!

    ●  Stop self-tanner use 12–16 days before and fully exfoliate it off.

  • ●  If you want to shower, do it a few hours in advance so your pores have time to seal. Quick rinse only (no soap).

    ●  NO lotion / oils / sunscreen / perfume / mineral oil products.

    ●  NO deodorant: it can react to the spray tan solution and leave blotchy streaks or uneven absorption. (If you feel uncomfortable going without deodorant, wash it off completely right before your appointment).

    ●  Wear/bring loose, dark clothing + breathable shoes.

    ●  Avoid tight clothing, skinny jeans, white fabrics.

    ●  If wearing short clothing and sitting on leather seats, bring a towel.

    ●  NO Make-up: arrive to your appointment fresh-faced.

(If you’re fitting a spray tan into your busy schedule, we have makeup wipes to cleanse your face before your session).
